Where have I been?

I usually start my posts out with a picture series but it's been so long since I've posted that I thought I would just start with an update and some random pictures I've taken since I've posted last.

So these first pictures were taken in Prescott, Arizona after I had finished my schooling at the audio engineering trade school I've been going to the past 10 months. I was never one for school so it felt really amazing and surreal to be finally done with all of it. I'm now on an internship at a studio in Mesa but I'm ready to move on and do my own thing. These were taken with my (now sold) Canon A-1 and 50mm f1.4

These next set of images were taken at a pool party for the youth group I help lead, which has been another huge part of my life. I was asked to be a junior high leader at my church pretty much exactly a year ago and I think it's safe to say it was the best decision I've made. Those jr. highers have made such a huge impact on my life. They are such great kids and it's been great to be a part of their life.

The past four days I was at jr. high camp up in Prescott with these great kids. It was one of the greatest weeks and I'm thinking about applying to work there for winter and summer camp coming up. I was hoping to do some of the videography and maybe even do sound up there. It would be a dream job to work with kids and be able to do photography and sound as well as live up in beautiful Prescott so we will see how that goes.

These were taken with my Pentax Spotmatic F with SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4

Another cool thing that's happened with me recently is the acquisition of my newest camera, the Hasselblad 500C/M. It was a bit of a roller coaster because it was a really big purchase for me, and when I had got my first rolls back, although the camera had just been CLA'd, it had some pretty bad light leaks. I took the camera in to my local camera shop and they found the leak in the foam in the film back and replaced the light seals. It was time for the youth mission trip I was going on so I didn't have time to test it and just took it on the trip. Even after the repair it was still having that light leak so I took it back to the shop and they had explained it was the way I was removing the dark slide. I'm glad that was all that was wrong. Since then I've been able to get some use out of it and it is honestly my favorite camera I've ever used. It is just a one of a kind experience and if you ever get the chance to use one take advantage of it! The pictures it produces are truly amazing and I didn't miss the focus with a single shot, which never happens with me. It's is just a joy to use.

Last thing I promise! So I was asked to be in an art show in downtown Phoenix this Thursday. I couldn't be more excited and it's such a privilege to be able to showcase my work with so many talented artists. I'll be selling my prints there including some new work from my Hassy of Coronado Island which will be featured in my next post.

Anyway, thanks for putting up with my rambling and I hope to be posting here more!
